New Managing Director for Nanso Group Oy
Nanso Group in brief
Nanso Group manufactures jersey, mostly cotton garments and underwear, socks and pantyhoses for the domestic Finnish market as well as for the Scandinavian, Central European, Russian, UK and Canadian markets. Its best-known brands are Nanso, Finnwear, Black Horse, Hyvon, Vogue, Amar, Norlyn and KS Socks. The Group employs around 840 persons, about 680 of them in Finland.
Ms. Leena Syrjälä has been appointed as the new managing director and CEO of Nanso Group. She will take up her position on March 26th 2009.
Ms. Syrjälä has been on our Board of Directors since 2001. Currently she works at Wihuri Corporation where she is Vice President and General Manager responsible for the Wholesale Division.
Besides her experience with retail and wholesale businesses she also has strong experience with international brands. Before joining Wihuri Oy, Ms. Syrjälä had worked as Company Manager of Gillette Group Finland and before this as the director responsible for retail sales at Nestlé Finland.
"I am eagerly waiting to start working in Nanso Group. The business sector is very interesting. The company's long Finnish traditions and its strong brands are perfectly in line with my personal values", says Leena Syrjälä.
Current CEO Pertti Lahervuori moves towards new challenges and leaves his responsibilities at Nanso Group according to his own wishes on March 26th 2009. Pertti continues as counsellor for Nanso Group along with his new challenges.
"My time with the people of Nanso Group has been really rewarding. I am convinced that Leena will succeed in her new position and I will naturally give her all my support", says Pertti Lahervuori.
